We are fortunate to have additional resources in school for up to twelve children with complex physical and medical difficulties. Children within the provision are fully included in classes and access the same opportunities as their peers.
Pupils in the ARP make exceptional progress because the adults working with them have a detailed knowledge of each pupil's needs ~ OFSTED 2013
We are committed to providing an inclusive setting with equal opportunities for all and go the extra mile to ensure this aim is delivered in practice. All class teachers have experience of working with children with disabilities and the school has enhanced staffing to support children. Where appropriate children within the provision access support from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical physics and the specialist community nursing team.
‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.’
Suzanne Cowell is the Special Educational Needs co-ordinator who has responsibility in school for children who access our Additionally Resourced Provision.
‘Pupils in the Additionally Resourced Provision make outstanding progress and consistently achieve very well from their starting points even though many have regular absences for treatment or stays in hospital. Other disabled pupils and those with special educational needs also make outstanding progress because they are carefully watched and sensitive support is provided when needed.’ Ofsted 2013
