On Wednesday 23rd November the school council worked alongside the local police officers to look at road safety in our local area. PCSO Jonathan Dunn and his colleague came to talk to the school council about being safe on the roads as pedestrians and also as drivers. The school council then took part in some speed monitoring on Brunton Lane and all had a go at using the speed gun to take the speeds of passing cars. Although the speed limit is 30 mph here, the councillors did record some cars doing up to 37 mph! The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this activity and are going to feed back to their classes later in the week.
