Road Safety Assembly

24th November 2017

As part of Road Safety Week, all children from Nursery up to Year 6 participated in an assembly. PC Cowen and PC Mailer talked to the children about the green cross code and how to safely cross a road. First you need to find a space to cross. Stop just before you get to the curb. Look around for traffic and listen. If traffic is coming, let it pass. When it is safe to do so go straight across the road but do not run. You should never cross between parked cars unless the only option.
The children were very engaged and asked lots of questions about road safety. Questions such as how to safely ride a bicycle on the roads and whether it is safer to ride on the pavement or the road.
A big thank you to PC Cowen and PC Mailer who gave up their time to talk to all the children!
