School Clubs

At Kingston Park Primary School we have a huge selection of clubs and extra curricular activities to choose from.

After School Clubs usually run over a weekly block period and letters regarding clubs will be sent home at the time. Parents will be asked to complete consent forms for school run clubs and return them as soon as possible. Places will usually be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Parents will be required to register and pay online for clubs run by Premier Sport. For further information see the letter below.

We also run a wide range of clubs during the school day over lunchtime periods.

Please see the table below for information regarding the wide range of clubs on offer during the Autumn Term.

Recorder Club

Recorder club runs weekly and is led by two parent volunteers. Learning to play the recorder is a fantastic way to introduce children to music. It is a great opportunity for Year 4, 5 and 6 children to learn a musical instrument, begin to read music and perform to an audience. The children perform in assemblies, the Christmas and Summer Fayres and also in concerts.

Learning the recorder paves the way for bigger and better things as the fingering of the recorder is very similar to many wind instruments such as the flute, clarinet and saxophone.

  • The recorder has been around since medieval times.
  • King Henry VIII played and collected recorders. He had 76 recorders in his collection!
  • Many famous musicians can play the recorder such as Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney.
